She is also revered as a savior who restored light to the world through her divine dance.

When Amaterasu hid herself inside the Heavenly Rock Cave after the pact with Susanoo, it is said that the world was plunged into darkness, losing all its light.

To entice Amaterasu to emerge from the cave, Ama-no-Uzume performed a sensual ritual dance before the entrance — holding bamboo leaves, stamping upon an overturned wooden tub, and dancing half-clothed with bold, captivating movements.

The other deities burst into loud laughter at her bold performance, and the sound of their joyous excitement caught Amaterasu’s attention.
Curious about the commotion, she peeked out from the cave—allowing light to return to the world once again.

その大胆な踊りを見た他の神たちが大笑いをし
