About Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto appears in Japanese mythology as a sibling of Amaterasu-Ōmikami and is said to be a deity of the moon, the night, the sea, and agriculture.
In ancient times, people are said to have carried out farming and fishing based on the phases of the moon, which is why Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is also regarded as a deity who reads the lunar calendar.
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is also said to embody both feminine and masculine aspects.
